More fires, more earthquakes, more volcanoes, more hurricanes, more violence, more and more. It seems disasters and terror have become the norm. We truly are living in a world in travail. Those who have read the words of prophecy from the ancient Scriptures are not all taken by surprise nor are they living in panic. For those who do not know the Scriptures, they are seeking answers, they are looking for solution, in fact -- they will willingly surrender their rights and freedoms for a sense of security. Those who are looking to government solutions will be worse than those things which they now fear.
I wrote this little poem several years ago and it speaks to the workings of the bureaucratic behemoth and reveals its' all too often truer inner workings. It goes like this:
Blind eyes leading crippled legs down unknown paths
Mute tongues sent to answer the cries of the hurting
Cries falling on deaf ears of those sent to listen
The wounded lay dying strewn along the path
While untrained solders are still searching for the battle

The believer, the child of God, will look to the word of God for answers... for comfort. The Bible says in Psalms 94:19-22,"When there is a multitude of worries within me, Your comforts delight my soul. Shall wicked rulers, who make oppressive laws, align with You? They conspire together against the life of the righteous and condemn innocent blood to death. But the Lord is my defense, and my God is the rock of my refuge."
